It also ensures that all chapters operate in alignment with the core principles and safety standards of the global movement.
Cycling Without Age – Redlands Coast was established by a group of passionate local volunteers who recognised the need to reduce loneliness and increase connection within our own community. We are entirely volunteer-run.
Our local leadership team includes:
Chair
Secretary
Treasurer
Along with volunteer pilots, ride assistants, safety coordinators, grant writers and community supporters. Our chapter is built on generosity, collaboration and community spirit.
Reduce social isolation
Strengthen intergenerational connection
Promote dignity and inclusion
Improve wellbeing through outdoor engagement
We believe everyone has the right to joy, conversation and community — regardless of age or mobility.
All rides are:
Free of charge
Volunteer-operated
Conducted on pre-assessed routes
Focused on safety and connection
Our trishaws are electric-assisted, purpose-built passenger bikes designed for comfort and stability.
Volunteers undergo:
Screening
Police checks
Induction and training
Ongoing safety guidance
Safety is always our highest priority.
Cycling Without Age is guided by five core principles:
Generosity
Slowness
Storytelling
Relationships
Dignity
These principles shape every ride.
As a new chapter, we are in the early stages of building our fleet, volunteer base and community partnerships.
We are actively working to expand our capacity, including securing funding for additional trishaws and wheelchair-accessible options in the future.
With the support of our Redlands Coast community, we look forward to providing more rides for more people in more places.
