For many seniors and people with disabilities, getting outdoors and feeling connected to their community becomes difficult over time. Cycling Without Age is on a mission to change that - and we need your help to keep the wheels turning!
Originating in Denmark and now thriving across Australia with over 46 chapters and 600+ incredible volunteers, our not-for-profit charity offers free, scenic rides on specialised e-bike "trishaws." We believe that everyone, regardless of age or ability, deserves to experience the great outdoors, bridge generational divides, and leave loneliness in the dust.
From 86-year-old pilots to 108-year-old passengers, our rides prove that age is just a number. As one of our passengers recently shared after a ride: "Sun, fun, and laughter... Thank you for all the hours and joy you give to us all."
We are calling on our community to join this award-winning, life-changing initiative! Whether you are an avid cyclist or just someone with a big heart, there is a place for you:
Become a Volunteer Pilot (Trishaw Rider): Hop on a trishaw and pedal (with e-assist!) while sharing stories, singing songs, and pointing out local sights with your passengers.
Become a Scout: Ride alongside the trishaw to assist with route safety.
Be a Admin Supporter: Help coordinate rides, chat with passengers at the starting line, or assist with community outreach and administration.
Be a Concierge or Welcome Volunteer: Support passengers with embarking and disembarking and provide reassurance before and after rides. Theres more roles too, have a look at the information below.
Donate to the Cause: If you don't have the time to volunteer, your financial support helps us maintain our trishaws, train new pilots, and expand into new communities so no one misses out on the ride of a lifetime.
Ready to change a life today? Join us in making sure everyone gets to stay socially engaged and connected to the beautiful world around them.
